SHELL
The London, England-based global oil and gas corporation Shell plc is a British enterprise. Shell is a public limited corporation that is listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) primary market and the New York Stock Exchange and Euronext Amsterdam secondary markets. Shell, a fundamental part of Big Oil, is among the biggest corporations worldwide across all industries and is the second-largest investor-owned oil and gas firm in the world by revenue. In terms of greenhouse gas emissions from corporations between 1988 and 2015, Shell ranked ninth when considering both its own emissions and the emissions of all the fossil fuels it sells.

In 2023, Shell—previously known as Royal Dutch Shell—reported having $316.62 billion in total revenue. Compared to the prior year, when the corporation benefited from ten-year highs in gas and oil prices, this was a noticeable decline. Being among the biggest oil and gas corporations globally, the company's highest profits were recorded in years when average benchmark oil prices, including those of Brent crude, were exceptionally high.

The owners of Shell are its stockholders. The biggest is BlackRock, a massive asset manager that holds 9.6% of the business. More than 5% of Shell is owned by no other stakeholder.
